Are people confused about stereotypes vs racism?

IDK I was just reading the yahoo news thing about Speedy Gonzales. How the news page is saying that the 1950 character is stereotypically racist. I myself think that is a bit of an oxymoron. I mean a stereotype is like saying white people cant dance, black people like watermelons and have big we wes, and that mexicans are hard working and jam 20 ppl into 1 car. That's a fact for some people. Racism is putting people down for what they are for no reason. I don't think the two should be confused. Stereotypes are funny I mean anyone who has watched the George Lopez show (He is doing the voice in the new Speedy movie) sees him being what they call racist all the time. I remember when his daughter was dating a white boy and the adopted him ish. Anyways he was saying how they would have to get the mild sauce because he was white. Also there are plenty of comedians that do stereotypical jokes all the time. Katt Williams, Wanda Sykes, Robin Williams, and plenty of others but nobody attacks them but they attack a cartoon.IDK america is to PC and it is going to pussify a generation, where everyone cries if you sneeze in there general direction. I am in no way condoning racism, I believe it is very wrong but what is wrong with stereotypes, there true and funny and everyone has one. like I am a hick. I have bad teeth I like drinking fishing and going to the wal mart and thats ok.
