What is the best hair dye you've used yourself?

I have jet-black hair. I haven't colored it for years but I started to feel like I look older than my age because of my hair color. And so I colored it Burgundy. My Mom uses brands like Revlon and Loreal. I am someone who used to buy stuff just because it is a popular brand but I noticed that her hair is damaged. The strands are like so thin and very fragile. So I decided to get this brand called Lolaine. I think it's from Thailand. At first it was very nice to me coz it has a very good scent but as I applied it, my scalp felt so irritated. I could tolerate the pain so I just went on and followed the instructions. After which, I washed my hair thoroughly. The color was nice and all. I loved it. However, I noticed that when I sweat... my headbands and inner collars had a tinge of red from my hair. And everytime I take a bath...until now, the color of the water from my hair is red. Simply put, the color fades away as I wash my hair. It sucks. It is nearing 3 months already and I want to color my hair red again. Any suggestions?
